Welcome

Who Is Circle of Chi?

We’re a world-wide community of individuals from all walks of life, religious backgrounds, and spiritual practices. Our common thread is Tai Chi Gung, a 3,000 year old tradition that combines the principles of Tai Chi, Chi Gung, and meditation to create a harmonious balance between Body, Mind, and Spirit.

What is Tai Chi Gung?

Tai Chi Gung, also known as "a Simple Yoga," is a moving meditation that stresses the importance of breath, movement, and focus. The name itself holds deep meaning: "Tai" meaning grand, "Chi" for the vital life force (qi, or prana) flowing through all beings, and "Gung" for the sacred temple of our bodies. In synchronizing breath with gentle, flowing movements, we harness this intrinsic energy, fortifying our physical and energetic wellbeing.

At its core, Tai Chi Gung is a practice that emphasizes the connection between breath and movement. By focusing on the breath and moving in a slow, deliberate manner, Tai Chi Gung practitioners can cultivate a sense of inner peace and calm. As you practice Tai Chi Gung, each deliberate motion becomes a meditation in itself. The mind quiets, anchoring you in the present moment as stress and anxiety melt away.

With newly improved focus, flexibility, and cardiovascular health, you'll feel your body and spirit rejuvenating. Through this revitalizing practice, you'll experience a blossoming of physical and mental benefits that permeate every aspect of your life:

  • Improved balance and flexibility, as you master the fluid movements that challenge and strengthen your body.
  • A reduction in stress and anxiety, allowing you to navigate life's currents with serene grace.
  • Enhanced cardiovascular health, as you invite a stream of vitalizing energy to course through your entire system.

Tai Chi Gung: A Moving Meditation

Tai Chi Gung is also a unique form of meditation, inviting you to surrender to the present moment through synchronized breath and motion. As you flow through the graceful movements, your awareness turns inward, quieting the mental chatter to reveal an enhanced state of mindfulness.

In this new state of mindful presence, you'll develop a deepened connection to your innermost self. Each intentional step, each mindful inhalation, anchors you more deeply into the here and now. Stress and anxiety gently peel away as you learn the joys of simply being. Through regular practice, Tai Chi Gung gives the practitioner many benefits, both physical and spiritual:

  • Heightened focus and concentration as you train your mind to stay present and centered through the mindful movements.
  • A profound sense of calm replaces anxiety and stress as inner peace becomes your default state through harmonizing breath and motion.
  • A new tranquility that radiates outwards, creating an aura of peace around you that can positively influence those in your daily life.
